Vienna has the world`s most efficient public transport system. The underground station “Enkplatz” (U3) is a five minutes walk from the hotel. From there it only takes you ten minutes to go to the city center. The underground runs until 00:15 on weekdays and 24h on the weekend. A single ticket costs 2,4€, 24h costs 8€.
Taxis are pretty cheap. The ride from the airport to the hotel is about 30€, from the hotel to the city center around 20€. Here are two numbers that you can use for calling a taxi: 0043 1 31 300 and 0043 1 40 100 .
Vienna, or Austria in general, is pretty “slow” and “quiet”. Shops close early, around 20:00 during the week, 18:00 on Saturday and they are permanently closed on Sunday. Paying a drink by credit card is also not a good idea, many bars and restaurants do not accept cards, always have cash with you.
